About the Artist, Ms. Lee Pearce
|
|
|
Native to South Haven, MI, Lee Pearce has raised a fine son, recently married with a new baby girl. She is proud to have had her shop open 24 years, has a very spirited nature and has been artistically inclined since early childhood.
In 1975, Lee began serving the local commmunities as a sign painter and Illustrator. Schooling and on the job training allowed her to market airbrushing, pinstripes and other graphic details thru Autobody shops as well as Commercial Advertising. She still designs business logos as well as Camera-ready ad copy.
After college and some traveling, Lee got her first tattoo by Marty Holcom in Columbus, in 1985. A butterfly viewed from the side, legs extended as if about to land, colored brightly with the hues of a rainbow, symbolic of freedom and the shortness of life, to live each day fully & without regret for it may be the last.

With all the excitement of a first tattoo, Lee was amazed with the process and decided then and there, this is what she wants to do. Six months later, received her first tattoo "kit" and rendered her first piece, then her next and then again and again.
Always with brand new needles and tubes, soon had to order more.

With the realization of the permanence, and that tattoos are more than just pictures on your skin, but energy that feeds your life, and abhorred with the commonality of advertising, this medium for her illustrations became prominent; hence the name DEEPER MEANINGS Custom Tattoo Art, founded August 20, 1986.

As always, Lee enjoys bringing out the specific ideas people have in their imaginations. Many images are of strong beliefs or are of a memorial nature. Dedications to those who have passed on, be they pets or loved ones. Most all tattoos depict a greater love in one sense or another. This energy is so intense, Lee prefers to dwell on positive energy & things of good nature.
Every design is created specifically for each individual and will not be reproduced. Favorite subjects include fantasy, tribal designs, portraits. All things associated with nature and the true spirit.
Thru Sams & Carlson Medicine Cards, as people become aware of their natural spirit guides, Animal-totems are becoming quite popular as a way to attract this energy.
Unfortunately, negetive images will also generate energy in your life the same so be careful what you ask for, REALLY!!!

Lee's illustrations, in every medium she uses, shows depth and motion using wonderous colors and amazing realism.
Custom family portraits are designed using favorite pictures of themselves, defines the entire family as they like most. Family portraits make very popular gifts for any holiday. It can take several months to produce the original and have litho-copys made for other members so it is best to allow a 6 month period before you need it.

My mission statement is to be true in every sense of the word. To be certain the art I produce is exactly as the customer desires. I am very meticulous about this. I will be sure that customers are aware and fully understand the sterility procedures, what they should expect, the healing process and that their work is guaranteed for the rest of their life,(or mine), meaning if a touch-up is necessary, there is no charge for the work.
